Promote Agro-Ecology Project

Project Background

The Promote Agro-Ecology Project is supported through the REDDA Project and implemented in cooperation with partner organizations, including CIPO, FGS, IADC, IRAM, and NKN.

The project supports Indigenous communities to conduct participatory research and identify appropriate approaches for adapting traditional agricultural practices to climate change while contributing to biodiversity conservation, forest protection, and sustainable natural resource management.

Focus Group Discussions and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approaches are used to document community knowledge, experiences, priorities, and potential agro-ecological practices.

HA currently supports activities in three villages located near Vireakchey National Park:

● Trak Village, Kok Lak Commune, Veun Sai District;

● Tompoun Reung Thom Village, Taveng Kraom Commune, Taveng District; and

● Sieng Say Village, Taveng Kraom Commune, Taveng District.

The project aims to strengthen the connection between Indigenous traditional knowledge, sustainable agriculture, climate adaptation, and natural resource conservation.
