Introduction
Highlanders Association is an indigenous organization, it was found by indigenous elders in Ratanakkiri province to promote indigenous traditions, culture, livelihoods and knowledge related to land rights and indigenous people rights. Highlanders Association was officially registered with the Ministry of Interior on October 15, 2007. Currently, Highlanders Association is looking for candidates with the following positions:
1.Research consultant on Customary Land Tenure Documentation (One position)
2.Project coordinator on Traditional agriculture (One position)
3.Project coordinator on Customary Land Tenure Documentation project (One position)
To recruit two people (one consultant and a Project Coordinator) to coordinate the project on documenting the use and management of indigenous traditional land, which is supported by MRLG donor, which will be implemented from August 2024 to August 2025. Another project coordinator will be selected for the Indigenous Agriculture Project, which will run from August 2024 to December 2027. The project is supported by REDAA donor to promote traditional agriculture and agro-forestry in target villages of indigenous communities in Ratanakiri.
1. Research consultant on Customary Land Tenure Documentation
(August 2024 to December 2024) based in Ratanakiri Province
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or higher
- Having knowledge and experiences of 5 years or more on research or documentation Better experiences working with indigenous communities in the past
- Skills in facilitating information gathering with youth, women and indigenous elders Skill in writing research reports and analyze research results
- Able to adapt to local communities and visit localities
- Good communication and cooperation experience with relevant stakeholders Influence in English Speaking and Writing
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point…)
- Patience and good manners in teamwork
- Skill in developing the module of training on Customary Tenure Documentation of IPs
Roles and responsibilities
- Provide training and capacity building to target village youth on participatory research skills. Coordinate basic research study plan with the staff and youth focal points
- Collect data from the youth at the field and do data analysis from the results of the research Work closely with community facilitators and project coordinators to review data collection to ensure adequate data from the field
- Participate in facilitating reflection workshops with target groups and stakeholders Write and produce final reports for results in Khmer and English.
2.A project coordinator on Traditional Agriculture (from 2024 to 2027) in Ratanakiri
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have completed High School or higher At least 3 years of agricultural experiences
- Be able to speak English and some indigenous languages in Ratanakkiri
- Be able to develop monthly work plan, quarterly plan and annual plan Be able to write project activity reports
- Computer literate software such as word, excel, power point,…
- Can ride motorcycles on difficult roads and remote local communities
- Builds good relationships with indigenous peoples’ working groups and communities Like to work on indigenous traditional agriculture
- Be able to adapt to the culture of indigenous communities and be able to stay over night in the community during field work
- Patience and good manners in teamwork
- Having personal leadership on project management
Roles and responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual project plan with the team Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports of the project Good cooperation with team and project stakeholders
- Participate in project-related workshops or meetings with partners
- Organize meetings or workshops in target villages, at the provincial and national levels.
- Provide training skills to target groups on agricultural knowledge Organize model Argo-forestry farm in target villages
- Participate in research activities with relevant partners according to project activities
- Submit quarterly reports to the program manager timely (in English is much better) Facilitate reflection meetings or workshop on project status and progress
- Lead and participate in solving obstacles related to project implementation
3. A project coordinator on Customary Land Tenure Documentation (August 2024 to August 2025) in Ratanakiri Province
Qualification:
- Candidates must have completed High School or Higher
- At least 3 years of working experiences in participatory research Speak English and some indigenous languages in Ratanakkiri Develop monthly, quarterly and annual plan
- Be able to write project activity reports monthly, quartly and annaully
- Computer literate software such as word, excel, power point,…
- Can ride motorcycles on difficult roads and remote local communities
- Builds good relationships with indigenous peoples’ working groups, and communities
- Be able to adapt to the culture of indigenous communities and be able to stay over night in the community during field work
